Hanna Barbera: I’m back!

I wouldn't call Tom and Jerry a Hanna-Barbara IP. Yes the duo were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, but they were working for MGM at the time. It's pure coincidence that it's all owned by warner media now.

i'm excited that hanna-barbera is coming back. i really like watching scooby doo and other cartoons on boomerang. i don't know if hanna barbera will include old cartoons or new ones or a mix of both but i'm really excited for it to be making a comeback

I love Hanna-Barbera! I'm actually writing a research paper for university on them and comparing full and limited animation. Many people criticize Hanna and Barbera for using limited animation, but without it Saturday cartoons would not have been possible. Also animation almost stopped being made in many studios because it cost too much and took too much time to make. So thank you Hanna-Barbera for being one of the studios to take that leap and choose limited animation even if every other studio criticized it! It's thanks to limited animation that they could create more in less time. But without full animation, they had to develop the dialogue their characters had to a much greater extent, which is how we get some really interesting personalities (Ex: Fred Flintstone). They were also one of the first studios that wanted to make content not only for kids but for adults as well. So much so that every book I've read about them mention that their content was for kid-ults. Their cartoons apparently created a whole new audience so it needed a new word. lol.

I miss the old cartoons of Hanna-Barbera. I miss all the old cartoons. I miss Teletoon Retro because it would show things like Care Bears, Inspector Gadget, Jetsons, Loony Tunes - everything.

If they can modernize Hanna Barbera the same way they modernized DuckTales, COUNT ME IN.

Awesome, but I hope they don't try reinventing the wheel with old propertys. Yeah updated modern cartoons with classic characters is what I'd love to see, like most newer scooby cartoons, but don't want them redesigned in drastic new artstyles where they don't look like the characters.

Dont know if I want new Hanna Barbara. Only want the old classic Hanna Barbara cartoon we grew up with.

Uhh, I have some mixed feelings about this. I would be okay with doing reruns of these shows, reviving a few of them such as Johnny Quest or maybe the Flintstones. But some shows shouldn’t be rebooted, like those Scooby Doo rip offs or the Yogi Bear different species copies(examples; Wally Gator, Magilla Gorilla, the Yogi like wolf) and some of the other shows that probably haven’t aged very well. It’s okay if the rest of you are all excited, but I guess it’s because I have moved on to the modern cartoons(specifically the more story driven type of shows)such as Gravity Falls, Hilda, 2017 Duck Tales and Owl House.

Man I really really hope Pixies, Dixie and Mr Jinks the cat return. I miss watching them late at night on Boomerang

From the sound of it the heads of this operation are passionate about this so hopefully some hard work is put into the projects

I loved the Hanna Barbera cartoons when they air them on Cartoon Network growing up in the 90's and 2000's, they're as iconic as Disney and Looney Tunes, even though Warner Bros kept Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry going through new tv shows and made for tv movies throughout the 2000's and 2010's. Did you know that Frank Welker who is well known for the voice of Megatron in the original Transformers cartoon and Transformers Prime did a lot of voice work for Hanna Barbera throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's? He was also well known to voice Fred Jones and has been since. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are quite the Animation Legends along with Walt Disney may they rest in peace they left behind a legacy, and I think it's a great way to honor them and Hanna Barbera Studio.

Now Hanna-Barbera is back I like them to have Hong Kong Phooey,Johnny Quest,Space Ghost,Herculoids,Josie and the Pussycats and The Jetsons in a TV reboot series.

I want the HB Studios Europe to bring back all the old characters we've missed over the past 20 years, such as a GOOD Flintstones reboot, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat, and one of my favorites, Magilla Gorilla!

HB is so nostalgic to me! I grew up mostly watching Nick, but I watched Boomerang and CN every now and then! I used to call it Hanna Barbra as a kid lol. Glad it’s coming back

This new Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe is simply a renaming of an existing studio, so it will be Hanna-Barbera in-name only. It won't be anything like the original incarnation of Hanna-Barbera Productions without William Hanna and/or Joseph Barbera alive and at the helm to executive produce the cartoons. I just hope that with this revival of the Hanna-Barbera name, that they might go back to the roots and revive some classic Hanna-Barbera shows/characters.

If the studio wants to get big, all they gotta do is animate Galactic Kids Next Door and the Teen Titans the OG.
